This is my own story about.. Lamborghini
in around 1996 or so i got a gift from my uncle whom just went to usa for some business. he bought me a car magazine it a “car world” magazine if i’m not mistaken. the cover is the new chevrolet corvette which quite intriguing, those read hot body and double circular tail lamp.
but as i keep reading that magazine, this magazine reviewed another car.
this car is looks like been design by mad mad people, those curvy but very short body. pop-up head lamp and doors for pete sake, it’s open upwards not side ways like usual car. somehow the exterior says “I’m a mad car! so get out of my way!!”
i kept reading the magazine and i know It’s called Lamborghini Diablo, some italian manufacturer. and the magazine explained that diablo means devil, who the hell named their car devil ?! only mad persons who’d name their product devil!
and then again the magazine says it’s an improvement models of the last diablo which in fact THE FASTEST PRODUCTION CAR in 1990-1991 the V12 5700cc record breaking top speed is 325 km/h holy shit now i know why this car named diablo because it goes like devil!
as i can recall this diablo still lingers on until 2001 with their last improvement called
diablo VT, still the mad design body and those upwards doors still attach to this door. only the pop-up head lamp has been replaced with the fixed one. the reason why the lamborghini people changed it is “with the pop-up head lamp it adds more drag to the aero dynamical body” well for me you shouldn’t drive fast at night.
in the 98 this company bought by sensible high morale delicate german car manufacturer AUDI, so i thought the craziness would stop, just like what they did with galardo in 1998
they just simply toned down the body from diablo and mount the V8 5000cc from their audi A8/S8.
but i was wrong.
in 2002 they launched again the V12 madness out of the world scissor doors called murchielago
now engine has been bored up to 6200cc produce staggering 580 horse power, and the lamborghini even go for long mile to hired former B-2 bomber designer just to design this car, that’s only mad lamborghini would do.
the fixation aircraft car design body not stop till there.
in the 2007 lamborghini launched their very very limited edition reventon.
to make simple is when the f-22 raptor

the result is horrifyingly mad, turning heads, out land-ish, cool car
it’s called the lamborghini reventon
and again only lamborghini would take the extra mile to prove they are crazy just look at the speedo meter
they fitted the fighter mode look in their speedo meter!
only 20 reventons made to be sale to public with eye scratching $ 1.000.000 price tag!
they sold out only in 3 days!
this is some prove that LAMBORGHINI is the craziest car manufacturer in the whole world!

This is a story about a boy who fell in love and just keep falling deeper and deeper for one of the greatest car brand in the history of mankind

i don’t remember exactly how long i’ve been an maserati fans
the only thing i remember way way before i know about cars like these day when i was a little kid back in 94-97 i watched an cnn about an press release about a new car, back then i can’t speak or understand english i just sit there in front of tv and there’s just a guy unveiling a beautiful, yet scary looking thing and also very very different than cars i see in Indonesia. weirdly i loved it. i don’t know what car type it is, hell with the manufacturer, the one thing that captured my child brain is the leaned back doors and absolutely the logo with the trident shape.
well it’s hard for me as a kid to gather more information of this strangely beautiful car, but one and only thing the trident shaped logo always stuck in my mind. i borrowed the indonesian car magazine from my uncle just tried to matched the logo to every car pictures but result is disappointing i can’t found one. (back than indonesian car magazine only contained some toyota boxy rubbish car, or the dreary ugly 3 series BMW)
when i go in the toy’s r us (very popular back then) i always checked the match box isle just continue my research, but then again i couldn’t find one.
years passed. around in my 5th grade when my home just got an cable TV i watched MTV there’s an video clip starring this awesome awesome beautiful car, and you guess what, that car has the same trident shape, i remember i jumped of from the couch and put my face very close to the tv screen and just focused on the car tried looked the manufacturer of this car.
in this first attempt i failed. but i wait and prayed this video clip would be on air more often. and days after my prayer has been granted that video clip re-appeared i focused on the car again, and i can read something in the back of the car it says MASERATI. it gave me another question, where this car came from ?. but for me i feel really really glad back then, at least i know the name of the car.
around in my 3rd year of junior high 2003, i got my first internet connection. and just began my research trough the internet. after that i know everything about this mysterious car manufacturer. it’s from italy and the history about this company i don’t want to bored you with it. in my research i know this car manufacturer also produce some magnificent cars such as
maserati 3500 GT
and the convertible ghibli
and also some which really mistake, some car that shouldn’t be made at all

which looks like a 2 doors volvo 740 GLE had emblem change to maserati

and in 2004 it happens, after my beloved car company just been bought by the biggest name in the business FERARRI they want to release a super car. i waited patiently for the press release.
and there she is
it’s called MASERATI MC12
i just lost my words when the first time i saw this amazing piece of engineering. my jaw dropped in awe.
this is the most beautiful car i’ve ever seen.
and later i knew that this car has V12 6000cc dino ferrari engine (just like they put it in enzo) but they tweaked it to get more horse power from it, 630 HP to be exact. and the body shaped by giugiaro to be as aero dynamic as possible and to be as beautiful as possible, they achieved both.
and this is the interior
a perfect blend of carbon fiber and blue leather, it’s like combination of speed purpose and luxury meet and matched in heaven.
this is the car i want the most.
for a quick fact:
this car only been produce 50 units around the world! so it make even rarer than ferrari enzo or the 1000HP 400 km/h car bugatti veyron
the price tag when this car launched is $800.000, now this car worth around 1-1.3 million dollar
for me maserati MC12 it the goal of my life. i literally would sold my self to the devil just to have this car on my own garage
the purpose of my living
